Donald Trump has acknowledged Imran Khan's welcome to visit Pakistan: Qureshi 


Pakistan on Tuesday said the U.S. President Donald Trump has acknowledged Prime Minister Imran Khan's welcome to visit the nation. The visit, whenever made, will make Mr. Trump the 6th U.S. President after George W. Shrubbery to visit the South Asian country after a hole of over 10 years. 

George Bush visited Islamabad in March 2006 when Pakistan was under the military standard of the then President Pervez Musharraf. 

Tending to a question and answer session in Washington, Pakistan's Foreign Minister F.M. Qureshi said the issues relating to the Trump's visit will be settled upon soon, Pakistani news channel Geo News announced. 

The U.S. President has acknowledged the idea to visit Pakistan upon the welcome reached out by Prime Minister Khan, the report said.

Prior on Monday, the U.S. President, while reacting to an inquiry presented by a writer on whether he might want to visit Pakistan, reacted that Mr. Khan had not expanded him any welcome but rather, whenever given, he would acknowledge it. 

"Indeed, I can't state that yet in light of the fact that, up until now, he has not expanded me a welcome," Mr. Trump said in the midst of chuckling. 

"Also, after the present gathering, perhaps he won't. Be that as it may, I have an inclination he may. Indeed, I'd love to go Pakistan at the ideal time," he said. 

Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower was the first of the five American Presidents to visit Pakistan in 1959, trailed by Lyndon Johnson in 1967, Richard Nixon in 1969, Bill Clinton in 2000 and Bush in 2006. 

The Pakistani head is presently on a three-day visit to Washington. He met Mr. Trump at the White House on Monday, a gathering which Islamabad expectations would reset the stressed respective ties between the two countries.
